Mark your calendars for a memorable fishing event tailored just for our younger community members! On Wednesday, July 10, 2024, Liam Knight’s Pond in Corrales, New Mexico, will be the picturesque setting for the “Latino Outdoors New Mexico | Fishing & Frescas – Free Youth Fishing” event. This family-friendly occasion is set to start at the welcoming hour of 4:00 pm and wind down as the evening colors paint the sky at 7:30 pm. A wonderful opportunity for children and families to engage with nature, this event promises to be a delightful mix of learning, leisure, and the joy of fishing in the great outdoors.
The event is proudly hosted by Latino Outdoors New Mexico, in collaboration with 505 Anglers and New Mexico Game and Fish, aiming to provide an enriching experience that connects young anglers with the natural world through the art of fishing. Participants will have the opportunity to borrow fishing poles, receive bait, and enjoy light snacks and agua fresca, making for a perfectly relaxed and educational afternoon. Attendees are encouraged to bring along water, sunscreen, hats, additional snacks, and their own fishing poles if they have one. It’s also crucial for parents to remember to secure their fishing passes before the event. Whether you’re a seasoned angler or new to the fishing world, this event is a fantastic way to spend quality time with family, learn something new, and maybe even catch your first fish!
